The Central Valley is acre for acre the richest agriculatural valley in the world. More than 11 million acres of irrigated land are planted with a variety of crops including everything from walnuts and asparagus, to cotton and kiwi fruit. The valley is covered with rivers and lakes, offering recreation ranging from riverboat cruising in Stockton, to water skiing in Lake Oroville. Houseboats and pleasure craft (rentals available) cruise along the thousands of miles of the Delta’s waterways, some traveling for days without seeing a sign of civilization.
